On September 30, 2025, the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) hosted an innovative educational event that brought climate science to life in an interactive and collaborative way. The TER.R.A Puzzle – Climate Fresk workshop gathered more than 100 participants, including students and facilitators, in the Sports Hall of the Tudor Vladimirescu Campus, transforming scientific data on climate change into a shared learning experience.

The initiative was organized in partnership with Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Germany), within the INGENIUM Alliance, and involved several European universities and organizations: Munich Business School (Germany), University of Rouen (France), University of Skövde (Sweden), Supmicrotech-ENSMM (France), Munster Technological University (Ireland), and the “Mai Bine” Association (Romania).
A collective experience of learning and awareness
At the center of the workshop was the Climate Fresk, an educational board game already present in 168 countries and experienced by over 2.2 million people worldwide. Based on the IPCC scientific reports, the game encourages participants to map the complex links between human activities and the climate crisis, using teamwork and creativity to build a large visual “fresk.”

The session at TUIASI lasted three hours and immersed students in a non-formal learning environment where science met collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. For many, it was both a wake-up call and an empowering reminder that climate action begins with awareness and collective responsibility.
About the INGENIUM Alliance
The event was part of the activities developed within the INGENIUM European University Alliance, of which TUIASI is a founding member. INGENIUM brings together 10 universities from across Europe with the goal of building a shared academic space that promotes innovation, sustainability, inclusion, and international cooperation. Through initiatives like the Climate Fresk, INGENIUM offers students and staff opportunities to learn, collaborate, and create impact beyond borders.
TUIASI’s message: knowledge into action
By organizing this event, TUIASI reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability education and to preparing students to engage with pressing global challenges.
“The Climate Fresk is a powerful educational tool that turns scientific data into awareness, action, and hope. Through this experience, our students not only gained knowledge, but also inspiration to see themselves as part of the solution to the climate crisis. It was also a chance to connect with our European partners on a subject that defines our future”
highlighted Prof. Irina Lungu, INGENIUM Project Coordinator at TUIASI.

The TER.R.A Puzzle – Climate Fresk was more than a workshop—it was a demonstration of how education, science, and international collaboration can empower students to take an active role in shaping a sustainable future.
