Doctoral studies are the third advanced academic training cycle following Bachelor and Master programs, according to the Bologna agreement. The doctoral program, the conditions for enrolment to doctoral studies, the training program, the public defense of the thesis and awarding the doctoral degree are carried out in accordance with Higher Education Law No. 199/2023 and Order No. 3020 of January 8, 2024, approving the Framework Regulation on University Doctoral Studies.
Doctoral training represents the third cycle of advanced university education. The doctoral program, the doctoral admission colloquium, the training program, the public defense of the doctoral thesis, and the awarding of the Doctoral degree are carried out in accordance with Higher Education Law No. 199/2023 and Order No. 3020 of January 8, 2024, approving the Framework Regulation on University Doctoral Studies.
Doctoral studies can be funded from the national budget, from other legally constituted foundations or personally. The financing of doctoral studies can also be carried out by legal entities under private law or by research and development institutes, based on a grant agreement.
