Gold Medal at the Macao Inventics Exhibition, won by a professor from Iasi

A fan shaped house – invented by Ph.D. Alexandru Stanila, professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi – won the gold at this year edition of the Macao Inventics Exhibition, in China. The single family house has extendable walls and may be built in less than an hour.

The house was designed with the populace in calamities affected areas in mind, and it is able to provide all the comfort of a suburb house: kitchen, bathroom, living, and, depending on its size – two, three or four bedrooms. The house is energetically independent as it has photovoltaic panels installed, as well as a drinking water supply tank. An additional benefit of the fan-house is the affordable price: 300 Euros per square meter.

The extensible house isn’t the only invention of the professor acknowledged abroad. In the last two years – also at the Macao Inventics Exhibition – he was awarded the gold medal for the seismic-proof house and the wooden structure house, buildable in 24 hours.
